Mobile Phone
handy mit vertrag have continued on what can only be described as an incredibly fast but stable evolutionary track, adding more and more bells and whistles as the years go by. While they were originally used strictly for mobile phone calls for the longest time, this would not be the case forever as we saw in the year of 1993 with the addition of the SMS technology, which allowed users to send text messages to each other via the keypad on their phone.
Evolutions have steadily continued, expanding from text messaging to allowing the owner to download a variety of custom ringtones to their Mobile Phone in 1998. The mobile technology has continued to expand at an alarming rate to now include the download of wallpapers, games, music, ringtones and countless other content. Popularity of the texting feature in the Mobile Phone has resulted in the development of full QWERTY keypads designed to simulate the use of a personal computer's keyboard to enable faster texting as well as the typing of full-length emails on the users’ phone.
The technology while great does have several basic limitations, the first of which is the phone's battery life, as more and more services are added battery lifespan seems to diminish. This has largely been compensated for with the addition of car chargers that can be plugged into your vehicle's cigarette lighter. The second limitation is the phones mobile signal; if you are not in your provider’s area of coverage, you could be assessed roaming charges for using another company’s network or simply not be able to make calls or access data services at all. Mobile Phones overall have provided an invaluable tool for everyone, and it will be interesting to see where they will be in a couple of years at their current rate of evolution.
